"It is consequently a very little known science-fact that in August 1978, Tom Baker (aka Dr Who number 4) spent just over an hour locked in a BBC prop cupboard. Having incarcerated the Doctor and pocketed the keys to the Tardis, MC/Producer Jneiro Jarel, donned some tastefully pimped out thread and sneaked off on a beautiful cosmic adventure through time and space. Breezing through enchanted Brazilian rainforests c.1962, lounging on planets that never even appeared on the show. He even spent a couple of days coordinating a dance workshop for cybermen in 2012. Dr Who Dat? basically energised an entire parallel universe with drums, trumpets and various vocals, all cut to perfection using re-engineered Dalek lasers, pro-scratch mixers and brightly coloured computers that run on sugar can" - Lex Records website

so Ive had this playlist on my ipod for a few years now and before that I would burn it on to cd just to give you how far back ive had this playlist and why some songs are there, I've add some songs here and there, some songs aren't on there cause I couldn't find them on project playlist, these are some of the songs i enjoy and remind me of this season
i think at least once a year we should all go back and listen to this stuff and i figured since its starting to get cold its a good a time as any
great for fans of the tick and nerd refrences they do them all from dune to comics to star trek (they have an episode that takes place on an alternate universe where everyone has goatees)

BRILLIANT
"The parallels continue! McCain is a military man who spent time in a Vietnam prison camp, the character of Col. Tigh is a military man who spent time in a Cylon prison camp. Sarah Palin comes from a family of school teachers, the character of Laura Roslin was school teacher before becoming Secretary of Education (and then later President)."

"Listeners also bought" and the giant web of music they spin through that feature i found The French Horn Rebellion and the super awsome song Up All Night.

DINOSAURS AND MONSTERS!! How cool is that.
Right now the first episode of Primeval is free on
and its a fun show if you like good old dinosaurs action. Even though it just begun here on BBC America its already on its third season in the UK and you can find it if you look around the interweb
I was in my friends car who has xm radio and a song comes on, and the best thing about xm radio is that it tells you the name of the song and artist, well thats how I found out about The Baskervillies. They remind me alot of the first two ablums by The New Pornographers (which are on rockband now. weird.) They have this cheeky catchy happy pop rock. Im trying to find more songs by them, but you can go to there website and download their monthly free single right now is You Can Never Go Back . They also have alot of songs on there to listen to.
The Baskervilles - Midnight At Underground Club
so I'm on a total steampunk kick ever since con and the new alkaline trio single done on a steampunk theme, the video is so so, i think its funny that the mic stand are just C-stands
Apollo sunshine released a new album this week. Ive seen them perform a few times now and each time has been an amazing show to watch, from the first time I saw them open for The Anniversary on their last tour to a few years ago at the echo, Ive missed a few shows here and there due to them selling out, which is always a good sign but make me very angry that I didnt see them.
Their new album Shall Noise Upon, With their single
Apollo Sunshine - 666: The Coming Of The New World Government
A video from 2005 following their second self titled album
Music video -Today is the day - Self titled
Music Video - I was on the moon - Katonah
I watched the first episode of Bonekickers. A show about an archaeological team figuring out archaeological mystery (i.e. we might have found the cross!!....) all of these stories are fictional with some history attached to them. Its boring over dramatized and quite almost pointless. The characters are redundant, you have the hard boil leader who doesn't like anybody new on her team and what does she get a brand new fresh grad school student newbie added to her team of course shes the character we are meant to follow and connect with. you have the old aged cooky fun professor that knows history like the back of his hand etc . Then you have the young guy whose already proved him self to the hard boil leader and acts like the trainer to the new girl who just joined the team. whatever
Why the fuck would I watch a show about trying to figure out fictional history when they have shows on the history channel using the same technics but with real items and real events. If the characters and their story lines where event remotely interesting it would be worth it, but they aren't.
Right now, Im listening to The Postelles ... alot and on repeat
I found them when while I was stumbling around looking at clothing and this website I forgot what it was now, but they had this comp cd and the song "white night" was on it. Let me tell you that it got me from the get go, it has this late 50s early 60s catchyness to it that cant be ignored. Heres some links to their songs and theres more on their myspace so check it out
They have been in the studio with Albert Hammond Jr (guitarist from The Strokes) and just played some big festivals. hopefully soon they will come out west
The Postelles - White Night
The Postelles - 123 Stop
I know alot of people who dont read comic books and stuff and have no idea what Watchmen. That's why I'm glad that they made The Watchmen motion comic

BUY THE BOOK!!! READ IT !!!
The Wackness which I loved and thought it was one of the better movies I've seen this year thus far. Mainly due to the style of awkward humor and the amazing song selection that really sets the setting for this movie. Yet it dawned on me that the time period and music choice wasn't really all that necessary to the main plot of the movie, the setting of 1994 was there to give us a sense of nostalgia to have bits of memories of those days. nothing that really happens that year played an role in the story line, it could of been set in present day and the story would of been the same yet the song selection wouldn't of worked and i think the movie falls back alot on that fact. im not saying this is a bad thing, but i would of almost rather see that the time period was used more as a plot device then just a setting. Ben Kingsley and Josh Peck where fucking amazing. Peck nails down the awkwardness and the trying to act tough, its good seeing him go away from his over the top slapstick style of comedy he was known for on nick to something more serious. Kingsley well its fucking Sir Ben Kingsley and he just does an impecable job, I dont really know where to start, I think I'll add more to this when I watch it again later today
The track listing of the offical soundtrack. There's more songs that Ill post after i re-watch it
